This Web side have been elaborated by six people that have been worked very hard to obtain this pages you are now visiting. We are neither from high society nor have high responsibility in our works, but the enthusiasm to offer to the other people what we can do, makes the possibility that our work will be appreciating by the visitors or by ourselves, because is a huge satisfaction to offer the possibility to know our culture. We have done several works like: summary the information, scan the pictures, to visit the places we are showing, to take the photographs, to meet ourselves to control our tasks, the results and take decisions about the different parts of this work, the design and a lot of tasks more made as a group. All of this and more is Myotragus. Itīs not easy work with six people as a group, above all if we work for other people. It wasnīt easy to find the information either.

This teamwork from Miotragus is to approach the island to the people in another point of view. Menorca island in not only sun and beach. There are a lot of things more like: unusual places because of its nature and historic value. We want to give our point of view about the island. It was hard to find a properly name for the group. A day, we met and we chose this name: "Miotragus".

Myotragus Balearicus was a mamiferous, it looked like a gazelle. It was from antelope group. However, its given by the locals some characteristics between a goat and a rabbit. It was the biggest mamiferous from Baleares. This animal was described firstly for a palaeontologist called Miss D. Bate.

According to carbon 14 method this animal is dating from 3984 b.C and was living until 109 b.C. Remains from this animal had been found next to objects and human bones, that means that this animal was living with humans and itīs supposed that people killed all the myotragus to feed themselves.

A keen on palaeontology found a cavern two years ago at Punta Nati with some remains of bones inside from myotragus. Nowadays some archaeologists are investigating this impressive discovery because they are hoping to find something else about the characteristics of this animal and why they disappeared.

To create this Web side, we have gone to all the places we have talked about and we have taken some photographs to posterity…
