Menorca is the most eastern and northern island from Balearic archipelago. Itīs the first place that you can see the sun in Spain. The area of Menorca is 701,84 km² . It has long shape like a boomerang and itīs 50 kilometres in length and 23 kilometres in width.

     It was because of itīs geographical situation that Menorca has been axis from a lot of cultures, which have existed along the time along the Mediterranean Sea. That is the reason why Menorca is full of different cultures, beginning with prehistoric tribes. Menorca is full of prehistoric monuments, which become the island in a big museum at the open air.

     A lot of civilisations tried to conquer Menorca, Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera islands to get an strategic point in the middle of the Mediterranean sea.

     Each of this civilisations have given their point of view to make Menorca culture. The Romans, Christians, Arabic, English and French conquered Menorca and left their part of culture, knowledge, legends and history.

     The littoral of the island is about 180 kilometres. It has more than 70 inlets and 11 beaches. There are some long shape inlets, narrow; other are rocky and rugged. A lot of them with semicircle shape and very thin sand, and others even virgins; all of them with our incredible sea.

     You can come to Menorca by plane or by ship, this last one has been the traditional way to travel. Along centuries, and nowadays, itīs lovely to see dawn over Mao port the usual place to land to the island of Menorca.
